Defibrillator Fundraising Day Raised £600 thanks!

With all the generous donations of money and items by parents, staff and family friends, we were able to reach a fantastic amount of £600.00. We are almost there to reach our goal. You can still make donations to the nursery, and there are still items from the jumble sale available to purchase.

Fundraiser

On Saturday 16th March 2019, we held our fundraiser fun day here at Paintpots Manchester. Our fundraiser was to help build funds to buy a defibrillator for our Nursery in the City Centre, which is part of a wide spread community. Our aim was to raise £800 to be able to buy a defibrillator with both child and adults pads, plus a storage box for it to be kept safe but in an accessible place. Our fundraiser was decided after attending our First Aid course late last year, where we discovered just how important and vital a defibrillator could be to save someone’s life. As children are the core of everything we do here at Paintpots Manchester, we want to do everything we can to ensure their upmost safety and care.

We had a fantastic turn out on the day from parents, past and present and also new potential parents, despite the weather with storm Gareth. Everybody had a fantastic day including the staff helping out. We had a huge bouncy castle we had to put up in our Nursery 2 room due to the gales outside, a small bouncy castle for babies and sensory activities. We had face painting, hook a duck, messy play, creative crafts, cake sale, jumble sale, lots of food and refreshments, and of course the adults favourite; the tombola.

Our brilliant toddler room leader Catherine and director Nichola took turns to be the mascot of the day; ‘Owlette’ from PJ Masks. The children absolutely loved it, following her around everywhere wanting her to play games; it was amazing. The nursery got painted with all the Picasso’s in the making decorating bunnies, bird houses, salt dough shapes and just general painting, sticking and glitter. All of the fantastic cakes the children had made and our Nursery 2 room leader Georgie had made at home got eaten very quickly, with just a few remaining at the end of the day.

It was lovely to see all the old children who left us for big school last September, still friends and playing together. Also seeing all the friendly faces of our past parents, and being able to catch up with them about how their children have grown and developed and how well they are doing at school. We have all arranged to have a summer fair later in the year, so we can all get together again so keep an eye out for the date!

BIG thank you once again for your donations and continuous support : )
